Maintenance Person- Sandbars Inn

Sandbars Inn is seeking a skilled Maintenance Person to guarantee the proper functioning of a quaint beachfront condo-style inn.  This position is responsible for ensuring all rooms are operating appropriately and have the foresight to make recommendations for items that require replacement or repair prior to failure, including calling a specialized tradesman.  This position maintains the common areas, as well as the grounds.  It addresses all guests’ concerns in regards to maintenance. 

 

Position Goals and Responsibilities:

  • This position is responsible for promoting the Beachtree brand, through maintaining the property to  brand standards-, establishing a high standard of excellence and expectation:
    • Maintain the interior of the hotel to include the following:
      • Makes Minor repairs to toilets, sinks, laundry room, sump pumps, faucets, and showers as needed
      • Repairs and replaces stove burners and exhaust fans, as needed
      • Ensure smoke detectors and fire extinguishers are working properly
      • Maintain laundry room, including checking, clearing, and replacing dryer vents
      • Replace switches, plugs, circuit breakers, and light fixtures when necessary
      • Check lighting throughout the hotel—units and common areas
      • Maintain doors, including repairs of hinges and locks, and rekeying
      • Check and replace heating and air conditioning filters, as scheduled
      • Perform basic dry wall repairs, painting, and tile repair
    • Maintain grounds of the hotel , including the following:
      • Keep grills clean and in working order
      • Attend to the pool and/or spa, performing minor repairs and maintenance to equipment
      • Straighten deck furniture daily, repairing as needed
      • Clean sidewalks and pool decks
      • Perform landscaping, as needed
      • Keep property clean and clear of trash and debris
      • Place trash reciprocals out and/bring back weekly

 

  • Provide a variety of administrative and miscellaneous support to the Beachtree team to ensure a successful stay for each guest and promote guest retention:
    • Maintain an organized work area, ensuring the maintenance areas are clean, neat, and stocked
    • Assist with daily/weekly unit inspections, when needed
    • Use downtime to monitor Reservations updates,- communicating to the team as need
    • Assist Beachtree team whenever possible with guest concerns
    • Assist Housekeeping staff , when needed
    • Drive as needed on behalf of  the company

 

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position all candidates must have the following:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience and/or training  in Carpentry, Flooring, and Painting;  in a Hospitality environment, preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with Job Costing
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation and communication (cell phone)
  • Open availability (nights, weekends, holidays, and on-calls)

  • Strong listening, oral, and written communication skills  
  • Acute sense of urgency, with strong time management skill
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Extremely detail-oriented
  • Basic computer skills (to track Time & Attendance)
